There is a difference between what you do for pleasure and what you do for enjoyment. Pleasure is usually something that you do because you just like it, like eating your favorite food, drinking, watching a movie...

What you do for enjoyment always involves the use of a skill, such as sports, writing, painting, animating, and even game development.

It is important to have a balance and not over work yourself but it's also important to keep your productivity on the enjoyment side of the spectrum of what makes you happy rather than the pleasure side where you don't actually accomplish anything but fulfilling a desire.

Ok well that was deep... or I'm just full of crap. Good work on Primary and I'll drop your (fixed) logo in the game before release I promice.

I agree with Boogley, the icon is hawt.
And I disagree with Jack. I mean there's physical stimulation that comes from things like nice food and -cough ahem-, and there's emotional stimulation that comes from socialising and whatnot, but then there's the mental stimulation that I get from animating which I need just as much as I need relationships and comfy chairs. It's something I crave and I get frustrated when I can't do it. It is pleasure just as much as anything else, and I do it because it's what I need to ...get my brain off, I guess. Accomplishing things itself is a desire when it's something you're passionate about.

For some reason this feels like a good year to step out of comfort zones... Maybe at some point they'll acknowledge that as the 2010 zeitgeist. Probably because it's a new decade, although I don't remember much changing between 1999 and 2000.
