Heavy Rain.

Posted by FrozenFire - March 25th, 2010

Holy Shit if you have a PS3, you should get this game.

Don't read reviews or anything online you might get spoilers which would be major lame.
At least rent it. It's by far the best storytelling game I've ever played, graphics are slick, and you REALLY get into it.

The first chapter sucks though, really shiny, boring, and joyful. After that the game darkens up a bit and gets pretty bad ass.

So yeah, it's a solid 10 - 12 hours to play through once. I might do it again just for all the extras.

Also working on a new game now that Primary is all done and released. Going to be a bit edgy but fun for you guys I hope.

Heavy Rain.

No,thanks.I can't find any pleasure through other people's suffering.

You don't think those nintendo characters suffer in Super Smash Brothers Brawl? Let me hit you with a giant hammer and throw pokeballs at your face all day okay

Yeah, cool game for sure. Thinking of another playthrough as well!

Definitely.

primary was an awful piece of shit with horrible controls and unoriginal gameplay

Heavy Rain is amazing though yeah, although your comment "The first chapter sucks though, really shiny, boring, and joyful. After that the game darkens up a bit and gets pretty bad ass." shows that you are completely fucking retarded

Peace,

Oh thanks for mailing my transcripts bro it really makes it easy on me

The guy above me is a hater/troll? lolol

Yeah, I have a 360 and dont want a PS3, but this and God Of War 3 look pretty beastly.

I was crazy excited about it leading up to the release. Even pre-ordered it.

I agree - it was pretty good, but there were still a lot of problems with it.

[No spoilers ensue]

Sure, the graphics were awesome, but there were often framerate issues or weird glitches (people walking through people). Probably one of the biggest issues I had with the game was the voice acting. Most of the actors were European, and the American accents they were trying to create were so often failed (especially in the case of the kids). It's a pretty major thing in my opinion; it really hurt the overall mood of the game. I couldn't get as immersed when I was noticing how idiotic some characters sounded.

Then there's the amount of power you actually have. It's not as much as you initially believe. Sure, you can alter the way a conversation goes depending on what you say, but for the most part, nothing you say will affect the end. It all depends on actions -- a lot of them which (especially when you're so used to trying to WIN when you play games) just feel like losing.

They put a lot of emphasis on how you can have different endings, but the truth is the endings are all pretty much the same (trust me I've seen them all); the only difference is variables (mostly who is alive or dead).

When I discovered who the origami killer was, I was also just disappointed. I didn't care very much by the time of the reveal, and I could feel that they wanted me to be all "OH SHIT IT'S THAT PERSON, NO WAY!", but it was just lackluster.

Overall I was disappointed. That's not to say it's a bad game; just it's not the amazing game it could have been. I did have a good time with it and spent many hours on it, but it could have been much, much better.

Oh yeah, one more thing. A plot issue I have with Jason at the mall - I'm sorry, but that kid is clearly autistic or mentally retarded or something. The way he acts is just too fucking weird and abnormal for him to not have a mental condition.

Sorry, I kind of got lost writing that. I guess I needed to get some things off my chest.

looks to depressing for my taste. How exactly is it a game? Like how would you actuly play in it? It seems like something that would do better as a movie rather a game

@ cakeman16: It's SUPPOSED to be like an interactive movie. Gameplay is not at all like (probably) any other game you've played. You mostly control individual actions using the right analog stick (sometimes SIXAXIS) and thoughts/vocal choices using the buttons while holding R2 to walk and the left stick to direct. There are a lot of intense quick time events (IMO some of the best sequences in the game).

I'm a big fan of the shenmue series I would say the game has pretty similar gameplay.

The game was pretty solid over all and I would give a decent score. In my opinion it lacks incredibly near the end of the game, so much so that it ruined the entire experience for me. It's like the creators had a good flow going and they decided to cop out in the worst way possible for the story. So many aspects were left unexplained and in general it seems they forced plot devices way too much.

It's definitely worth a play through but I recommend playing it without any extraordinary expectations, or else you will be severely disappointed.

Yeah, the game was awesome. I've only got a few trophies left before I get platinum. :D The story was really good. But my friend spoiled who the killer was. Which was a major let-down. But I still found the game very interesting and my ending was pretty sad. Ethan got shot down :(

I love Heavy Rain. All the twists and turn really get you into the game.

kinda curious how you can front post page without constantly submitting stuff

can you teach me?

Not a submission requirement :\

Just got to wait a certain amount of days depending on some formula Tom keeps in his secret safe of unattainable knowledge.

The game is awsome and I can't wait to try things differently in it. The first chapter of the game was supposed to be like a tutorial, though. I think that it was supposed to be shiny, joyful and full of hope and then the crash of that hope is made ever more powerful. I only wonder what awards will this game win.

I only said that because to be honest if someone played the game with no real interest.. they would be like..
"Wtf, this game is like the sims I just payed 50 bucks to shave and take a shower and take care of fucking children."

Im just thinking like a typical gamer, trying to prevent them from dropping the controller before the game gets good.

I cant believe the origami killer was you know it IT SURPRISED ME A LOT!

i watched two people play it. seems like a good game... except the crappy twist: aliens did it. kinda predictable.

I saw it comin a mile away man I fucking hate mnightshamalamadingdong

definitely a great game! though i've taken a break from my second playthrough because of Final Fantasy XIII though xD
